Personally, I think a good cut speaks all by itself.
    No more than S&P required.

My standard dry rub is Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning, chili powder, chipolte chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika & some oregano …….although I don’t put that on steaks:) I use it on ribs and brisket. I usually marinade my steaks in either Lawry’s Baja Chipolte marinade or A-1 Texas Mesquite marinade

McCormicks spice and other in you grocery store sell rubs. Try them out to find a direction in which to create your own. Also compound butters are something also to check out

There are a lot of things you can put on steak depending on what you like or your company likes. I personally am very fond of using Italian dressing. It keeps the steak moist and adds a bit of flavor. You could use anything from garlic powder to season salt to BBQ sauce even grilling with A1 is a good option. Basically just grill to your taste! (The Italian dressing also tastes GREAT on chicken)

Oh please! I could go so low road right now….

I use a cajun rub for my steaks, mixed with a dry barbecue rub. It gives the steak a spicy sweet background flavor.

    I agree with Vic.
If you have something good, you want to taste the steak not the seasoning.
When I say good( and I’m sure Vic is thinking the same) I mean, Ribeye, NY Strip or Fillet Mignon.

Now if you have a chuck steak or a shoulder steak,
rub away( but a tenderizer would be better in that case).

    Either way,
    Enjoy whatever you have.

Oh, you were being serious (Food & Drink). SImple and tassty as all get out.

    Olive oil
    Black pepper
Lime juice (from a real lime, not stuff in a bottle)

I got this from a book called the Barbecue Bible. It is really incredibly good.

Go ask this question in P&S and I’ll give you my real answer. It scares me to answer questions in other categories.

Oh, my answer for here is use some of that Montreal steak seasoning. It’s got all kinds of stuff in it and it tastes awesome.

    Pepper.

Pepper is the best thing to rub on your steak if you are planning to cook and eat it. : )

My mother-in-law makes the best London broil on the grill by first poking holes in it (both sides) with a knife, then rubbing extra virgin olive oil and sea salt in all over. Let sit for 30 min or so, then grill over low heat. MMMmmmm!

If it is a good steak go for just salt and pepper. If it needs a rub1 tablespoon ground black pepper
    1 tablespoon kosher salt
    1 tablespoon parsley flakes
    1 tablespoon paprika
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon cayenne
    Love, honey
