Have you ever rotisserie a turkey on the barbecue, weather permitting we want to try this for Christmas?

EM asked:

How long would a 12lb turkey take to cook on the barbecue.

Yes and it’s wonderful !! And the neighbors go nuts cuz they can smell it, It cooks faster then in the oven, but check directions for accuracy.

My brother in law cooks his turkey each year on an indoor rotisserie (one of those ron popeil “set it and forget it”ones). comes out great. I can’t see why it won’t be just as good on an outdoor one. My problem is a turkey won’t fit on mine.

And….You might want to remove the automatic thermometer in case the direct heat melts it.

It’s going to take less time than an oven since a rotisserie will also bake because it’s closed. I would guess around 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

    good luck and happy thanksgiving

MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO MAKE A PRIOR RUN ON IT FOR THANKSGIVING,THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE IT DOWN PAT FOR XMAS.
