put mayo on the outsides of each side of bread and put your cheese between each slice.

    put on griddle or whatever.

the mayo gives the outside a crunchy texture

lightly coat it with butter on both sides so that it makes me way more crispy and tasty! but this is pretty obvious so i’m sure a lot of people already use it. good luck though!

You should let the bread toast on one side, first, until it’s brown. Flip it and put the cheese on it, so that the other side gets brown while you let the cheese melt on the warm side. :)
    Ya!
Oh, and don’t forget a glass milk =]

Make a paprika butter by melting down the butter your using to toast the bread, adding a bit of paprika ((or another spicy additive)) and then put it back in the fridge to set back up and let the flavor infuse…then just slather that bread up and toast away…yumm!

Havarti and sliced tomatoes in the sandwich. Use a garlic mayonaise (aoli sauce) on the outside of the bread (instead of oil or butter) and grill. Should produce an awesome sandwich!!

Make sure to spread butter on the outside of the bread (the sides that are touching the pan while you cook), this will stop the bread from burning and turning black. This will also allow you to flip it a lot easier by not allowing the bread to stick to the pan. Good luck!

Fill your bread slices with as many cheeses as you can. Try Cheddar, Reguar american, A slice of parmigiano reggiano and I would go nuts with a smear of cream cheese. Dont forget to butter the outside of your sandwich. Press hard.

Put mayo on the cheese slices (so the mayo isn’t touching the bread) and put a sprinkle of garlic powder on the mayo! It gives it a great flavor.

Use a touch of garlic butter with your butter that you spread on the bread.

    GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

2 slices Cheddar, American, or Swiss cheese
    2 slices white bread
    2 tablespoons butter preparation
Put the cheese between the slices of bread. Heat 1 tablespoon of the butter in a skillet or grill and when melted add the sandwich. Gently press down with a spatula once or twice during the grilling. When one side is golden, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, turn the sandwich over, and brown.

    Additionals:

Grilled Cheese with Bacon. Fry 3 slices bacon until cooked but not crisp. Pat dry of excess fat, add on top of the cheese, and grill as directed.

Grilled Cheese with Ham. Put 2 thin slices ham on the cheese and grill as directed. Serve with sweet pickle.

Onion-Cheese Sandwich. Follow the recipe for Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but lightly coat 1 slice of bread with Dijon mustard. Sauté 3 to 4 slices onion in butter and put on top of the cheese. Cover and grill.

Tomato-Cheese Sandwich. Follow the recipe for Grilled Cheese Sandwich, but add two thin slices tomato to the sandwich before grilling.

    Good Luck!!

All the suggestions for grilling are good but the best grilled cheese I have ever had ( and sold) was made with pimento cheese.

The best grilled cheese I ever had, was made with texas toast, dipped in egg(like french toast) then cooked like regular grilled cheese! it is soooo good, I don’t know if the contest will allow, but adding ham is good too.

    Best of luck to you.

I make a very simple toasted cheese sandwich by toasting one side of the bread turning over, putting grated cheddar cheese on the untoasted side, and sprinkling with worcester sauce….. simple but tasty!
