what can I use in place of barbecue sauce in a recipe. my husband does not like barbecue sauce?

I am making a ground beef skillet casserole. the recipe calls for 1/2 cup prepared barbecue sauce. My husband does not like barbecue sauce. What can I use in place to make the meal declicious.

    Salsa for sure good flavor and don’t have to add green pepper or onion:-)

    If he likes tang, try cocktail sauce or spaghetti sauce. Any tomato-based sauce should substitute nicely. Or for sweetness, try Chinese duck sauce.

    I can not think of what its called, but the chinneese red sauce its sweet, not tnagy like bbq sauce, maybe to get flaor use a honey or swett bbq sauce, with half ketchup, jsut cut that tangy vinegar from bbq, sweet and sour sauce, ranch dressing too.

    Try plain ‘ol ketchup or chili sauce. They should work just fine to give it that tomatoey element.
