ERICA L asked:
Im making my own barbecue sauce and want to make sandwhiches, but with the cut of pork that makes the good shredded meat.

The “classic” is what is called “the Butt”
it is from the shoulder area, and shreds beautifully.

I make my bbq sandwiches with the pork loin…..I cook it in a crockpot with my bbq sauce for about 9 hours and then you can take a fork and just pull the pork into pieces….

Pork ****! Or shoulder. It has the right amount of fat and meat. You can use about any cut except the loin, not enough fat and will be dry with no taste! The ribs will do as well but I’d rather eat em whole!

The cut called Boston **** is the most popular for pulled pork.

I use pork shoulder it has sufficient fat content to make for a moist easy to pull product.

Yes…I agree….Pork ****.
Bake it in the oven on a low temp.I like 250 degree’s.Seasoned with a dry rub of bbq spice and add a little water. When done shred and add your favorite BBQ sauce and bake on low until serving or til flavors blend.
Serve on a nice crusty hard roll. You may also add coleslaw on top of the pulled pork when assembling the sandwich.Try it you might like it.It was always a good seller for me.

Boston **** or Boston Shoulder. I’ve used both. First I soak in a brine and then I cook very slowly in the oven. Food Network has several variations to make Pulled Pork. Some are time consuming, however, the outcome is well worth it. Good luck and Good Cooking.
